Золотые ретриверы, вообще-то, ценятся именно за неподражаемую волосатость. Шёлковый лев, а не собака. В идеале, ретривер должен быть вот такой:

Но совершенно невозможно ретривера содержать в приличном состоянии самому. Его надо чесать и умащивать ежедневно. Подшерсток густо-прегустой, а шерсть длинная-предлинная, тонкая-претонкая, ещё и завивается в продольные спирали диаметром около миллиметра. Два дня не чешешь - уже и колтун где-нибудь. Грива спереди обычно вся в засохших слюнях, хвост и ляжки в колтунах, колтуны за ушами, низ в репьях, и черта с два эти репьи вытащишь. Уже и гладить его стало противно.

Короче, мы выдержали полгода, отвели собаку к грумеру и попросили постричь его так коротко, как только можно. Сравните результат - вверху до, внизу после. Ну и что? Очень даже симпатичная собака получилась, опять его хочется тискать и гладить.
Оскар пришел в парикмахерский кабинет, возле входа всё нюхал, в двери рвался, а как внутрь вошёл, тут его воспоминаниями и накрыло. Это был второй раз, первый раз мы его стригли в апреле. Хвост между ног, лег на пол, ноги растопырил: "Не пойду-не пойду-не пойду!!!" Но грумеры и не таких видали, быстренько его затащили в свои застенки и через два часа выдали нам аккуратную, чистую и благоухающую собаку.

Теперь он на ощупь стал точно как тот очаровательный щенок, каким он и попал в нашу семью. Эх, затискаю волосатого!
